It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Luis M. Cardenas, age 39, of Wichita, Kansas, who tragically died in a single‑vehicle accident on Tuesday morning, November 18, 2025.

The accident occurred just after 9:15 a.m. near K‑15 Highway and 55th Street South. According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, Luis was driving a Ford F‑250 pickup truck when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a bridge railing. The impact caused him, the sole occupant, to be ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Sedgwick County EMS.

Luis was identified after a Kansas Department of Transportation worker discovered the crash site. The Major Crash Team is currently investigating the circumstances of the accident, with autopsy and toxicology testing pending.

Luis’s sudden passing is a heartbreaking loss to his family, friends, and community. He will be remembered for the life he lived and the people he touched.
