Authorities in Ontario are investigating a fatal collision that occurred south of Smiths Falls early Thursday. The Ontario Provincial Police reported that the crash, involving three vehicles, took place on County Road 29 near Kitley South Elmsley Townline Road just before 5:30 a.m.
A 61‑year‑old woman, identified as the driver of one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other motorists involved sustained either minor injuries or were unharmed, according to police. The location of the accident is approximately eight kilometres south of Smiths Falls.
The OPP have appealed to the public for assistance in their ongoing investigation. Individuals with information are encouraged to call 1‑888‑310‑1122 and reference incident E251566567.
